HELP!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I swear I'm yanking my hair out!!!! I have a 7 month (soon to be 8 months) old female Pit Mix. I swear (no offence) but it's like having a child who has ADHD. All she does is jump. she barks excessively (and she barks at nothing), and she is hyper. I know she is just a puppy, but this is crazy. She doesn't take to any type of disipline. When she is being corrected or how ever you want to say it, she thinks it's a game, no matter what you do!!!! I'm going insane and I don't know what to do. The last thing I want to do is give her away. I mean I love her a lot. Don't get me wrong, she is a total sweetie (when she is not acting like she is on drugs!!!!!!) She's not aggressive either. Please!!!! Can someone give me advice on what to do before my parents shoot her? PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

LOL I know how you feel. I have a dog that was like that when he was born.. Kinda wierd. He is a year old now and just now getting the idea that he has to go potty OUTSIDE  Find out what kind of toys he likes and just play with him till he gets tired. About the disipline. Keep trying to find something that works. if it works once stick to it. you have to show him who is boss. once you have that established you can start training him to do other things.
Hope I have helped

Thanx. She is getting a little bet better slowly. She is realizing that nobody is going to play with her if she doesn't stop the jumping. She is getting REALLY big, so when she jumps on you..... OUCH!!!! It hurts. I will admit she is getting better. She is very protective now. The disipline thing is still not working. All she thinks is that you are playing with her and the firmer you are, the more she thinks your're playing. The problem with toys is we have to buy so many of them. My other dog likes to get a hold of them and chew them up. But overall she is getting a little better. I hoping to put her in some classes when we get money.

I agree that it would be a good idea to enroll her in a professional obedience class. She needs to see you as the alpha and not try to see you as the equal. Good luck. I hope it all works out.

Thanx. I hope it works out too. The last thing I want to do is to get rid of her or have my folks shot her. I know they would never do it, but they say it. Yea she does need to learn, and I know if I don't do it while she is a puppy, than it will get harder. But thanx again.

Are you taking her out for walks daily? If so how often? It is very important to take a puppy or adult dog for walks daily even if you have a fenced yard they can roam.Dogs of that breed like many others have tons of energy and when they don't get to release it it builds up,they get frustrated and miss behave as well as not being very good at taking directions thus making them hard to train. They also need to be able to walk the neighbor hood inorder to become aware of their surroundings and for socialization purposes.I live in an apt.and have an Akita who's well over 100lbs and he's walked frequently throughout the day with one walk being at least 20 minutes. He's just turned 2 so is still in a puppy stage and very rarely do I have problems with him being hyper and not listening. So,if your not walking her a couple of times a day try that, let her release her energy and get tired out and you will probably see a difference.

I do take her for walks, bout once a day or every other day. I'll try taking her out more than once. Sometimes I can't because I get so caught up into doing things, but I will try. Thanx for the advice.

walks
I don't know much and am new around here, but I can't say enough about walks. We have a ShihTzu, which you would think "oh, a sweet little lap dog." NO! She is a spitfire and earlier on (she is only a year) we had some real dominance problems with her. Among a few things that went into her correction, we put her on 2 walks per day! Of course, she has little legs, so 1-2 blocks of our neighborhood was enough each time, but it really helped her be tired. It also seems important (from what I've watched and seen) that the walking experience be a form of training in itself - short leash, she keeps up with me and I decide when she can sniff around and wander, etc. It's part of teaching them the pack-rank hierarchy. She has much more respect for me, my husband and son. My daughter is only 8, so her walks are not training times, but they still help Zoe get tired.

Lol, ya before I got Bruiser, I had a terrier/poodle. She was a small dog, but she was VERY stubborn and bossy. I have another dog named Chance (who is 10x her size) and she would tell HIM what to do. Bruiser is very stubborn and it's gonna take a while to get her to straighten out and it's harder because she is much bigger than I thought she was going to be.
