I have a 4-yr-old American Eskimo/Pomeranian mix that is very good with other dogs. I am bringing home a 1 yr. old German Shorthaired Pointer on Monday. The two dogs have met at the home of the GSP today. The GSP was very active and chasing my dog around, not aggressively, but just b/c he wanted to smell my dog and was really excited. Is there anything I should know before bringing the GSP home on Monday? My dog and the GSP are both males, but both are neutered. Should I be concerned about aggressiveness at all? Any tips would be appreciated. TIA

I'm not an expert but I have to give this kind of advice often. Introduce dogs in neutral territory, like a park or the neighbor's house (someone used their car). I believe that scent is a factor. Maybe give both dogs a quick sponge bath and spray them both with the same puppy perfume. There may be better suggestions offered out there but I saw that no one answered your question yet--so best of luck with the transition!
