Default i have an 8 year old rot/lab mix

i noticed when he went to the bathroom there was blood in his urine.....i took him to the vet and they put a cath on him and when he peed in the vet there was no blood in the urine. Now there appears to be no other visible symptoms.......the vet took blood and it is now being looked at. i was just wondering if anyone else had had a similar experience....it could be a bladder infection, or kidneys etc. but the vet is unsure and i was just asking to see if others had similar happens with there older dog and what the outcome was.........
thanks

Is he castrated? This sounds like it could be a prostate problem - common in older, male dogs. I am very surprised your vet didn't pick up on this - did he mention prostate at all?

Ask the vet for an ultrasound of his prostate to see if it is enlarged.

Good luck
