Default Need help and advice asap!

Help! I Dont know what to do now.I have a 9 mo male lab that I have had since he was 6 weeks old.He lives in my house with my other 4 dogs and has always gotten along with them. However 2 weeks ago 2 of my female dogs got in a fight, and the little one got nipped which drew a little blood and she wet herself.Up till this time my lab showed no aggression, however ,over the last 2 weeks he has gotten so aggressive, that I now have to keep him away from all the dogs. I took him to the vet and he said that his sex drive has come in so he will be fixed in a week, but in the meantime, i cant let him near the other dogs while in the house. However, when they are all outside together, there is no problem. they play and romp ,with no trouble at all. He is just aggressive in the house. He is very unhappy inside and so am I. I don't like to keep him away from the others, but don't know what else to do. The vet said that he will calm down after he is fixed, but I am worried that he will never be able to be with other dogs in house if I keep him away from them now. Can anyone give me advice? Thank you

What do you mean by "aggressive?" Is he drawing blood?

Has he been fixed yet? how is it going?
It is very possible that his aggression was territorial related since it's just while inside the house. How big is your house? 4 dogs is alot even for a good sized home...it could be cramped in their mind. I would suggest keeping him outside when you can, and putting him in a kennel or in a bedroom if he acts badly.

If even after he's fixed it still doesn't work, you may need to find him a new home unfortunately. craigslist: san francisco bay area classifieds for jobs, apartments, personals, for sale, services, community, and events is a good place to find a loving home for your dog where he can be an only dog if need be. Best of luck.

You may have to start over on socializing him. But I agree that 4 dogs can be cramped. I have 3, but none of them are agressive. My females get along great. I did have 4 & I decided that I had to find a new home for the youngest. Good luck with your dog. I hope it works out that you don't have to get rid of him.

hmm... you don't want a dog fight on your hands, that's for sure... you may want to consider, if he doesn't calm down after being fixed, getting a dog trainer and seeing if they can't work out some sort of group dynamic there.

good luck!

Well I think the best thing is, of course, trying your best to wait it out and see what happens after he is fixxed. I will agree with PugLuv on the dog trainer bit, if he doesn't calm down after that's done.

It definitely couldn't hurt any dog, being seen by a trainer.
Hopefully this will all work itself out in no time.

What breed of dog are we talking here?

Some, more than others can tend to be a little sort on temper with their playmates and things can get a little out of hand if they are left to their own devices.

I hope the 'fixing' works and eases things a little for you.
