I have never personally owned one. My cousin used to have one though. They're so sweet! I love the breed, but they cost way too much & are WAY too big for the space that I have for them to live in at the moment. I would love to get one if I had the space though.

Oh, you got the space right...lol. They need a lot of rompin room. He sounds like a horse when he walks through the house.

My husband is the "main" owner of the Danes, but all the dogs are "ours". He has had Danes for over 15yrs. We currently have 5 total. Four females, 3 fawn and 1 brindle and a male who is 9 weeks and is our next show prospect.

I don't have one but i saw a beauty on the beach today. he was only 8 months old and fabulous!! He wanted to play with my Giant Schnauzer but Tuxedo wanted to do the Macho thing first so i think the owner was abit intimidated. Too bad, i think once Tuxedo showed him who the boss was, they would have had a great time. My damm dog seems to be into that latley? i hate it. Exspecially when they have equipment and he doesn't. Look under my pictures i will post a picture of the Great Dann. He was a terrific dog. I love big dogs!!!!

Default Rescue danes

Our last 2 dogs were Rescue Danes from Michigan- they are an awesome breed! They are just gentle giants, they have the best personality and the funniest quirks!! We just lost our last one about 2 weeks ago she was almost 10-11 years old and she died peacefully in her sleep. We will miss her!
I recommend Rescue to any one who is considering the Breed!

I have always wanted a Great Dane, they are the most beautiful dogs. My husband has bad allergies, so we have a schnauzer instead! My sister had a GD years ago, she was a rescue - she was brindle...and absolutely gorgeous!

I would always take her for a walk, and if she saw another dog, she would start pouncing up and down, almost like a kangaroo! Is this something that GD's do? It was so funny to see! She was a beautiful soul and had the most wonderful personality! At night she literally had to be tucked into bed...under her own covers and everything!, otherwise she wouln't go to sleep! She had to be put to sleep when she was 8 due to her health, but I will never forget her.

I think for anyone that has a GD, it is a great privledge, but I think it would also be very hard because they aren't with us long enough.

Default I have a 5 month Male Great Dane, 145 lbs already!

Great Danes are sooo amazing! Buddy Wayne is 5 months and just the best dog ever. He has rescued small dogs lost in woods all the way to helping care for my niece. There personalities are just like no other dog I have ever met.
