hi i am new to this fourm. i need to ask a question, well my grandmother wants to breed her bichon, she is 1 year old and her name is cassy, she is in the process of looking for a male. now my grandmother really knows nothing about breeding these dogs and i told her she shouldnt but, she still wants to. so i want to give her as much information on breeding them, so how old do they have to be to breed?,{so the mom has no problems with the babies}{health issues}.. when do the female bichons go into heat?.... please and thank you to any one that helps me!!!

My best advice is to talk her out of!Unless she has the money to do genetic testing, for vet care for the mom and the puppies,a stud fee,extra food for the mom during pregnancy,experience in delivering puppies if mom is having complications,money for vitamin supplements both during and after pregnancy,and much much more including experience and knowledge she has know buisness doing it.That's exatly what a BYB is!
