you can start by finding your local kennel club & go to meetings. that way you will meet show people & be enlisted to help with local shows. you should be able to find your local club by going to the AKC site.
in order to find out if they meet or exceed the breed standard, they must be shown & win over other dogs of that breed. if you got them from a pet store or someone just selling dogs, they should not be bred.
a responsible, reputable breeder would not have sold a show quality dog to someone that knows nothing about it. no offense intended.
