That's awfully rude. The poor kid just wants a dog, what is the crime in that?

I would have recommended her parents take her to a shelter. Chi's are pretty common there.

Well, I'm 12. Do you believe me? Does it matter? Are you going to stalk me on a forum? How do you know that even if this kid is sent a PM, it isn't directed to the parent's e-mail address?

How do we know this kid's mom isn't sitting right next to them? And what if that mom saw these rude comments...how should they judge you and your threats of abuse?

No, I'm not computer savvy. You're right, and I'm wrong because of this 'truth'. Surely no 13 year old has ever announced their age in a discussion forum and lived another day. However, and thankfully so, I do happen to have enough common sense to not advocate the smacking of kids for something so trivial as announcing one's age. You all should be proud of yourself.

I don't think anyone meant to LITERALLY smack (hit) anybody. It was meant (at least speaking for myself) as 'giving guidance and correction to'. In a loving manner ofcourse.

That's all well, but still not a very good excuse to reify such thoughts...literal or otherwise.

Well, to clarify my original statement, the 13 year old in question does not just want a pet. There are several posts here expressing his/her desire to breed his chi/papillon mix male, and he/she is looking for a Chi female for that purpose. And that's why I said I hope Mother smacks some sense into him/her.

13 year olds usually don't have the financial resources to undertake breeding dogs. They usually don't have the education and knowledge to do it the right way, nor do they have the commitment to follow through when things go wrong. The average 13 year old isn't going to be getting up every 2 hours to feed puppies if they can't or shouldn't nurse from their mother. And breeding mixed breed dogs just because you have a cute one isn't the right way.

Please do not speak that way to children on this board!.....They are not yours to talk to like that and it will not be tolerated!....There are other,nicer ways to get your point across....We need to educate kids on animal care not insult them!!!

Suggest a kid be smacked, or to suggest breeding mixed dogs on a dog lovers forum? Perhaps this enigma is deserving of it's own thread...:twisted:

With all due respect, you haven't read the PMS I've received from this child. If he or she is in fact a child. A child who is in no way open to being educated. And I received these PMS prior to posting what I posted, so no, it wasn't because I "insulted" him or her.

If you are receiving offensive PM's then please notify me or another mod so we can rectify it....If the person doesn't seem open to being educated it's best to simply not respond to them....I for one greatly appreciate the information you post on this forum and how helpful you have been....We're simply trying to make this forum a little nicer with not so many personal attacks....

Rees, at the time there were no moderators on this forum to complain to.
