My advice is to not breed him. Get him fixed.

There are too many "designer" dogs out there. Breeding your dog simply because he "looks cute" is a ridiculous statement that makes you look stupid.

If you don't believe we have an overpopulated country where dogs (HEALTHY, and some purebreds with 'papers') are being euthe'd in shelters google it sometime. The evidence is in our faces and don't do anything but continue breeding because some people want $$$$$$$$$$$ and in REAL BREEDING there isn't any profit, lucky if it makes a break-even.

pcpets.webs.com/availableforadoption.htm. I have a MALTESE/CAVI mix in right now looking for a loving home.

stop being stupid

milk, please reconsider. It is wonderful that you have a cute dog that you care for, and love, but this does not mean that you will be able to produce healthy strong puppies.

I noticed your other posts about finding a pup, I am assuming for breeding? The reality is that if somone were to sell you a purebreed chi (or any other breed really) without a spay/neuter contract, is probably selling you a BYB or mill dog, who have no real particular concern about their breeding program, which will leave you more at risk of unwell, unhealthy pups.

If you want to get into breeding in the future, I would reccomend finding a good solid breeder who will offer you years of mentoring, and preperation. Teaching you the ins and outs of the show ring, and the ins and outs and pros and cons of breeding and help you understand the true expese and time it takes. Then when you are ready they may then set you up with the first breeding stock you require.

It is all well and good breeding your cute dog, but it is not so cute, when the puppies start dying, or have heriditary issues or defects.
