ok... I have bred dogs before... and I co own a bitch that is here to breed with my new stud. I have bred dogs before, we never had issues BUT here is my question:

Ok, I know that when a dog breeds to a female in heat.. they are suppost to bred the LOWER 2nd hole.. the swollen strawberry looking vigina.. right!? Well my MALE tied with my female in her TOP hole.. is that her rectum!? HAS THIS HAPPENED TO ANYONE!? HELP! They seemed fine.... this is the males 2nd time breeding, and the females 1st time! IS THIS NORMAL? WHAT TO Do!?

I have not had this happen, nor have I heard of it happening. I would suggest giving your repro. vet a call in the morning and have your dogs (mostly your bitch) checked out to make sure all is ok. If they both get a clean bill of health you can try to repeat, but you may want to consider an AI if your boy is not able to breed naturally. How old are your dogs? Have they been tested by OFA/CERF, etc.? How are their heights compared to each other... that could be a part of your problem, you may need to use blankets to help them line up better. Also if your mating is properly supervised this problem should not happen to begin with, how many people were handling this mating? It is always good to have at least 2 people... if you have larger or giant breeds more people may be needed.

Welcome. How old is your beagle? Have your dogs hips, elbows, thyroid & eyes been tested by OFA & CERF? Does he have any titles or a CH? Why do you want to breed him?
