lab at 65 days pregnant
Hi could anyone please advice me,
I have a lab who should be day 65 pregnant now, she has had all the normal signs off being pregnant and has very baggy but loose skin around her teats, especially the ones nearest her hind legs, she looks wider around her ribs but no big belly, not felt any movement. I am aware off dogs having phantom pregnancy ect, Just wondering whether anyone has a lab who has had a litter but not looked big.
she happy and healthy eating well, still lively, She will be day 65 although i have heard that they can go to 72 days or so it says in the book of the bitch, is she having me on? or could she still be having pups.
many many thanks

If she is at 65 days you should have already had her in for an ultrasound a few weeks ago and x-ray to determine how many puppies she is having. You should take her to the vet right away to see if she is infact pregnant and make sure everything is ok. How old is she? Is this her first litter?

Hi and thank you for replying,
I have tried to get her in for a scan but they cant fit her in... I have breeder friends who have looked at her and as she is a big dog anyway it has been difficult to tell, she seems fine in herself still eating ect, she is 2 and a half.. no nesting, no signs off labour, I was just looking for anyone who may have experienced the same and have had a dog whelp with no major visual signs off pregnancy.
She stayed at the studs kennels for 6 days whist she was mated.. so I cant see any reason why she shouldnt be in pup, but visually apart from the wide ribs and the saggy teats, she doesnt appear to be.

she may just be having a small litter... but I really feel she MUST see a vet to make sure she is not going to have any complications. Wouldent you rather know NOW instead of when she needs to be rushed to emergency. If she is havig a small litter many times puppies grow quite large and require a c-section. If your regular vet cannot get her in take her to another vet, I am sure your regular vet can refer you to another place.

If I were you I would ring the vets anyway. This thread is 18 months old so you're not likely to get a reply.
Hope your dog is ok.
