Exclamation New with some questions..

Well Im not a dog breeder but I figured this would be the best place to ask this question.

I have a 2 year old Dachshund mix that I aquired after my grandmothers passing a 5 weeks ago. Christmas week we realized that she was looking a little heavy around the waistline but figured maybe she was just adjusting to a new food and possibly eating more often than before. The on January 2nd I started realizing that she was pregnant. I was able to squeeze a small amount of milk out of one nipple and I felt a some light movement on this day. By the 5th of january she was full of milk and the puppies were moving around like crazy!!! Its now the 15th and she is HUGE! She had a vet appointment set for Tuesday morning but my son got sick and stayed home from school so I had to reschedule but he can't see her till Friday. He informed me that if she looked distressed I could give them a ring before friday.

My main worry is that she seems sooo big and I have no clue what she was bred with. She has had milk for 10 days and doesn't seem to be showing any signs of labor being near.No nesting, and still has a huge appetite. Only a slight white/clear discharge a few times in the last week.

I have been taking her temps for a week now and her average has been in the 99.6 to 99.8 range. We dropped to a 89.5 two days ago but it spiked right back up. Since then we have had mostly 99.1 to 99.5 readings. But she has spiked into the 100 degree range as well in the last 2 days.

I have all the neccessary equiptment and her whelping box is ready (even though she won't go near it) . I have done tons of reading in the last few weeks.

Im just so afraid she is past due or that the pups are to big, my granny lived in the country and who knows what dogs were around. She seems normal and she is eating ,drinking and active.

Please tell me everything sounds normal enough to wait until friday to see her vet. Oh and this is her first litter, I always thought granny had spayed her but i guess NOT!

Vet visit is required now, she may need a c-section. It is a good guess she may be past her time so needs help.
