Default Inbreeding

I am looking into different kennels that breed Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Retrievers. I am getting the dog as a hunting companion/family pet. One kennel that I've been in contact with mentioned that they were breeding one of there males with it's granddaughter. Is this normal practice? What kind of risks are there for inbreeding. I have no knowledge on the breeding process so this could be a pretty dumb question, but I just wanted to get the advice of some breeders before I make any decisions

Any information would be helpful

Thank you

the risks are just the same as in humans, could be mentality impaired, could have serious health issues,

line breeding is actually common and no, when done one time does not create health issues as many "assume". It is when the process is overly repeated that there are issues. This practice has been going on for hundreds of years. Many dogs that are purebred and owned come from line bred dogs and most just do not know it. You do not see issues with them as there are none.
I bred for over 48 years and occasionally line bred as well as doubled up and never had any issues with my dogs. If you know what you are doing than there are no issues. Reputable breeders know what they are doing which is why there is no issues. This practice is recognized by all the major breed clubs as well as the major registries ie: FCI, AKC, UKC and CKC. I do not recommend it if at all possible but the gene pool sometimes is somewhat thin unless you start looking overseas which is what is now being done with many breeds.
