Good Evening,

We reside in Ontario, Canada and are looking to acquire a West Highland Terrier into our family. We are finding many puppies available, however, they are not directly available from the "Breeder". The sellers have acquired the entire litter and have taken on the responsibility of selling the puppies. Is this a typical or ordinary way for breeders to sell their pups or should we be suspect of possible "Puppy Mill" operations??

Good breeders DO NOT sell to dealers. They require applications and interviers and need to know where their puppies are going. What you are looking fro is most likely a puppy mill and something to RUN far away from.
