Hi all

My first post on here. I have a 24 month old Patterdale Terrier Bitch. Recently she has been acting a bit funny, it looks like she's trying to make a nest, her teets are swolenand she looks a little fatter than normal, Not a big belly or anything but when my wife gently squeezed her teets and a small amount of milk was present. We have no clue and will take her to a vet but we were wondering if there is advice anyone could give us. We suspect she was covered when she escaped from our garden while in heat.

Sounds like she is pregnant and due very soon. Once you get back from the vet let us know how things are going.

Thanks for your help Orangedog. We took her to the Vet 2 days ago and what a relief, it was a phantom pregnancy, the Vet gave us an antibiotic for her as she's got an infection in her teets. Now she seems to be getting back to her normal self. We have now booked an appointment for her to be speyed. Thanks again.
