Default Breeding a puppy

Yeah, I know you read the title and thought oh my god, "breeding a puppy" what an idiot and sadly, you'd be totally right.

I rescued a dog from a bad home yesterday, she's only 11 months old but has already had 12 puppies.

She's in ok health apart from being very skinny which I can treat just by a good diet. But her nipples and underbelly is quite saggy, which I know is natural post puppies.

But I'm wondering will this ever tighten up again by good diet and lots of excercise? Or because she's been bred so young, will there be lasting damage?

Thanks for any advice

there shouldn't be any lasting damage as you noted with proper diet and a lot of exercise she should return to somewhat normal. At this point I would just concern yourself with getting her back to good health and good shape and the rest should take care of itself. Good luck with the young girl.

Firstly, bless you for saving this little life.
Secondly, depending on the breed, the chances are she will totally recover her figure, as you say, with good diet and exercise.
If she is skinny, she was obviously deprived of nutrition while she was pregnant, and more importantly, while she was nursing. She would have drawn the nutrients from her own body to nurture her babies, and since there were so many, it would have seriously depleted her own body.
There could be more problems with her health than underweight, given that she is in the developmental stage of her life herself, (how serious this is also depends upon whether it is a large breed puppy, which I would guess it is by the size of the litter) so it is quite important that she is checked over properly to assess whether there is any serious skeletal damage, for one, or any other permanent damage more serious than an undercarriage.
I would not recommend any strenuous exercise at all until she has recovered from whatever nutritional lack she has suffered, and it has been established that there is no serious damage to her skeleton. Until then, short, controlled walks, ie. on a leash, for a predetermined length of time.
Best of luck.

Seeing as she's only had one litter, she should regain her girlish figure in time. But it can also depend on her breed. Some breeds do tend to keep the enlarged nipples, even after their mammary chains return to normal.

You can speed things up a little, if you want to go to the trouble, by binding her up tightly. That, of course, depends on if she'll leave the binding alone, and not tear it off.
