Question My labrador is trying to mount constantly

Hi my 2 1/2 year old black labrador is reallytrying to mount my labrador bitch 11 months old just as he did when she was in season he is obsessed even though she is not in season. She had her first season a month or 2 ago and i kept them separate but this time her vulva is not swollen and she is not bleeding and is not due her season yet sometimes she growls at him although he takes no notice he is much larger and sometimes she stands while he jumps on her back.i have separated them both to be on the safe side but just can't understand why this is happening when she is not in season. I am not willing to spay or neuter as they are both kennel club registered breeding dogs but the bitch is not yet old enough.please has anyone know areason why this is happening ?

Seriously, even if your dogs are AKC registered, that does not mean that they are in a condition to breed. If your dogs are proven champions, by all means, breed responsibly. But if you are planning on breeding because your dogs have papers, then stop right there! Our shelters are full. We need more people to foster shelter dogs. And the rescues need a big helping hand and volunteers too. If your dogs are not up to breed standards and can't win in a ring, please do not breed them. Responsible breeders breed in order to better the breed, not just because their dogs have papers.

you should think about it over and over before you make any final decision on breeding your dog. Think about the responsibilities that you need to take once the litter are out. What is the purpose of your breeding your dog? If you just want a new dog then maybe you should visit a rescue center and adopt a new one instead of breeding.

First and foremost, are your dogs a spectacular example of their breed? If not, they shouldn't be bred. Second, do you know enough about everything that can possibly go wrong and are you prepared to deal with it? There is an excellent post in the breeding section of the forum that I urge you to read before you even think of breeding these two.

My little Lara has a huge pedigree but, she is NOT a great example of her breed. Therefore, she was spayed.
