Question how to know???

so i was out of town visiting a sick family member and asked my friend to watch my yorkie...she also has a yorkie (not fixed) and a bloodhound (fixed). my girl just had a heat cycle 4 months ago...no problems. well a few weeks ago she said while i was gone laynee went in heat again and her male i assume got stuck a few times. well now mrs laynee has a poor appetite, vomits occasionally and wont let me touch her belly without groaning. i even took a bath and she jumped in the tub to lay on my chest, and this dog HATES water. i have an appointment set up for next week but im wondering do you think she could be pregnant?

You 'assume' they got 'stuck' ?
Did your friend tell you they bred, or she witnessed them tie? I would hope she was watching them better than that so she knows if they did or not.

If she knew she was in season, why did she not seperate them? It was either intentional, or I would find a different friend to dog sit in the future.

Her actions do not sound like 'typical' pregnancy behavior, but of course every dog is different.
How long ago would they have bred? The time frame will determine what, if any, tests the vet could do at this time to determine pregnancy.

Default RE:

she said she saw him going at it...i called her again and she said she was pretty sure. i dint want her to breed and she knew i wanted to keep them apart and she said she would but that didnt quite happen the way i planned it. i was supposed to start her in shows this next coming year, and that's why she wasn't fixed. i'm not sure but i hope to get some sort of news from it from vet soon. 8 more days til her appointment. and if they did tie it would have been at least 3-4 weeks ago

At 3-4 weeks xray will not show pups yet.
If your vet offers ultrasound you can find out if she is carrying or not. The only other option is lab work for a hormone count, but she would need drawn now and a repeat to see if the level increases or not.

I would go with ultrasound, otherwise wait until the last week of the potential pregnancy and have her xrayed. Likely by then you will already be able to tell, though, unless she only has one or two in there. It is always helpful to have a count so you know what to expect when labor comes anyway.

Hopefully he offers ultraound and you can get an answer now. Will hope, for you, she is not pregnant since she was set to go into the ring.

Your friend, I would slap, lol. Seeing she knew and allowed it to happen not once, but multiple times. Time for a new doggy sitter.
