Well I think the key here is reputable breeders. There are also a lot of unreputable breeders out there so linebreeding in that case would obviously be a bad thing. I think it's a matter of the character of the breeder. I still question linebreeding a bit, not so much because of genetical issues if done by a reputable breeder that is, but what about other issues? Orange dog said this is not true in dogs, but I'd like to hear your take Yogi. Because of breeding within a family could this cause the offspring to suffer from mental issues like humans?
I've come to the conclusion (as far as genetical issues go( by doing some research that linebreeding CAN cause major problems if the breeder doesn't know the breed's history and the status of the mates inside and out.
Just questioning the mental healthy aspect of breeding within a family.
