Lightbulb Looking for insight

The reason I am reaching out to the forum is, bc I am working on an online project for breeders and potential/existing puppy/dog owners.

What I’m looking to accomplish:
• To unite Quality breeders to Quality buyers through a professional website.
• An open source web site for reputable quality breeders only and rescue facilities!
To advertise available puppies/dogs and communicate to the public through blogs.
• To give access to potential new and existing dog owners to find local breeders, shelters, vet clinics, daycares, groomers and positive reinforcement trainers in their area.
• An informational site to build awareness to potential puppy buyers in:
o Finding the right breed
o What entails owning a puppy
o Rescuing and fostering
o Puppy mills, Backyard breeders, B-class breeders
o How to distinguish a reputable breeder
o Training
o Quality dog foods
o And of course awareness on online buying from these other sites that promote puppy mills and unethical breeding
• To become a major online resource to get the right breeders accessible above the puppy mill advertising on nextdaypets.com and puppyfind.com

Why am I doing this? It makes me sick that the 2 leading online puppy advertising sites don’t do anything to screen out puppy mills and unethical, irresponsible breeders (and they get 10 MILLION HITS A MONTH!). The general public is not buying puppies at pet stores anymore (THANKFULLY), so the only way they know to find puppies is by searching on google and the companies that trump the searches all publish (support) puppy mills and bad breeding practices. The general public does not know any better. I am looking to change this and bring healthy dogs back to the public. I am sick of people like that guy that posted about his 2 Shih tzu’s (that are way too young) wanting to have puppies and then he’s most likely going to sell them on these sites like puppyfind.com and nextdaypets.com.

My post is getting lengthy but I have ideas on how I can accomplish my goals. I am reaching out to you is for ideas, feedback and input.
Is there a need for this service? Are breeders going to want to use a service like this (if they are confident that the site maintains its integrity)? Will I get resistance from the quality breeders I am looking to support? If so, what kind of resistance do you think I would get?

I want to know if there is a need/want for this project before I plan on putting myself in debt over it (almost $100K over the next 2 years).
Any insight would be greatly appreciated!
Thank You,
Baci’s Dad
