well if you are interested in breeding... his pedigree is of the utmost importance! Along with health clearances. I would suggest you take him for a CCA evaluation if you are not going to show him. It is hard to tell from the photo you posted but are you sure he is 100% golden? His coat does not look at all like that of a golden his age. You say he is BIG... how tall is he to the shoulder and how much does he weigh?

well when i got him they had him trimmed..they keep their goldens like that unless they show them..his coat looks like a normal golden..He is a Red Golden..I dont know how much he weighs he has his yearly check up coming up in a few months..I will know then..He isnt a huge dog but he is normal size for a Golden i suppose

My older Jack dug so many holes in the front yard that last summer our superintendent was cursing at gophers!!!

We were quite used to Jack Russells digging - they had their own hole in the garden where they were allowed to dig at will but then we acquired our retriever and the garden never recovered. She not only had to dig but also to bury. But she was such a beautiful girl and had such joy in life, even after an awful start full of beatings and neglect, we never had the heart to stop her!

Yeah, you gotta love those terriers. My Pins have left my back yard looking like a mine field. Mowing this year is going to be tougher than usual. I am surprised the 75 year old apple tree has not toppled with the number of holes dug around it.

breeding Golden Retriever
Cait -
I understand the reply's to your post but I'm with you - I just want to breed one time to get a pup back out of it. My boy is 3 years old, has his papers, but I have brought him over with me from Australia. He is just a 'house' dog - my mate that I love, a White Golden and I just want to have his son around. If anyone can help me, I'd love some advice on how to find a way to breed him with an equally gorgeous white AKA female - If you'd like to be a breeding nazi, please hold your breath... any friendly advice - love it.

Plenty of advice given in this thread about getting your dog "out there" so that he is known to other breeders and giving you credibility with the breeders so that they take you seriously when you offer his services.
