2 ties but bitch still bleeding
I have a 2yr old female german shepherd and have decided to breed her with a 6yr old male. Both have had all their tests done, vaccines etc. Her 1st heat was at 15 months this is her second heat 11 months later. This is my first time breeding I have spent 2yrs reading as much as I could on breeding but this has never come up. The bitch has been bleeding for 16 days today. We brought them together 3 days ago just to get them acquainted and we got a tie.
->1st tie lasted 15min. When he pulled away there was a lot of clear fluid expelled (approx 1/2 cup).
->2nd tie today 10min tie. No fluid noticed but I was holding her head not looking at her back side.
We plan on bringing them together as long as she accepts him.
My question...since she is still bleeding is it safe to expect puppies in 63 days?

Just a few questions. Does she have any titles? Has she been health/genetic tested? And I don't mean an ok by the vet. How much do you know about this breed? Have you bothered talking to the ethical breeder who you bought her from? The breeder is the one you should actually be talking to.
Also, do you know anything about the male? Titles, health/genetic testing?
Why do you want to breed her?
Having raised GSD's for almost 30 years, not once were they bred.
Do you have homes already for the pups she produces? What will you do if there is an emergency during pregnancy? Or worse, while she is giving birth?
Sorry, but in my eyes breeding should ONLY be done by ethical breeders. To many people ruin breeds. And this is one of the breeds that gets ruined. And it's sad.

That is not what I asked. I understand your concern, but they HAVE ALREADY been bred. Every single question on breeding I see the only answer people get is "Why do you want to breed?" "Have you had them tested?" Just answer the question asked! Is it safe to say that she is pregnant?

Too answer your question, no. There is no way to ensure that she is pregnant anymore so than to expect she will have pups in 63 days. If you had read all that information, than you would have noted that during the bitches season, it is common for bleeding. If you had read all the information than you would have known of test strips to test yourself when she was ready. If you had read all the information you would have already known that the prime time is between 9 & 13 days from the start of the bitches season. So in this case, there is no way to answer your question. Your 2 years of reading everything there is to read obviously was not factual otherwise you would have already known that there is no guarantee of pups just because they tie. Anymore than there is any guarantee that the pups will be born in 63 days. I recommend you go back and read the rest of what you did not read than contact a reputable breeder in your area to mentor you as to what you do not know as to avoid these type of questions in the future.
Breeding is not taught nor can it be learned on the internet. There are far too many issues involved. That is something that all the reading you claimed to have done should have already taught you.

Yes the AVERAGE days to breed your dog is 9 &13. Just like the AVERAGE dog bleeds for roughly 7-9 days. But clearly my female did not read the literature and is not average, having her cycles so late and far between and bleeding for more that 2 weeks, and accepting the male while she still bleeds. I also understand that there is never a guarantee that she is pregnant.
I was hoping for a little encouragement here.
As stated in the previous post, breeding can not be learned strictly from reading; it's an "on the job" learning experience. And as I said in my first post, bleeding for more than 2 weeks has never come up in any book or internet page, or the fact that she has excepted the male even though she is still bleeding. And no, the breeder I got her from had no words of wisdom or encouragement, he had never come across this situation.
