My dogs breed

Hi all, Many people have asked my in the street what kind of breed my dog is...and honestly i couldn't tell them. I think he looks like an Irish wolf hound but i cant be sure, any help please.

To me he looks like a terrier. I wonder if he could be a lurcher- terrier/hound cross. They are very popular here in the UK.

I would say he definitely does resemble an Irish Wolfhound.
Seeing that he looks like a puppy still in the pictures, you will definitely know when he gets full grown, as Irish Wolfhounds tend to get rather large.

st bernards, no question they're big but i saw an irish wolfhound and i kid you not: its back was level with his owner's waist and the owner was not a short man!

it really did look like the guy was taking a small horse for a walk, lol.

I have also seen irish wolfhounds. They are gorgeous. What is the average height on those? My saint barnard, sammie stands at 31 inches tall on the front shoulderblade.

Thanks for the responses everyone. His name is Ben and will be around 7yr old. When on his hind legs he isn't as tall as I've seen some wolfhounds, no taller than me and I'm 6ft1'. He is a few inches shorter than me I'd say. He has to be a mix of some kind but more wolfhound.

I think he's a beautiful looking dog and the reason I wanna know the breed because eventually he will die and would like another just like him )
