 Males role in raising his pups?
I have two czech german shepherds,male and female.sound temperment and nerves and great drive.They have been raised together since the age of 3 and 4 months old,in our home.They are working dogs in agility and tracking-they are treated as members of our family.Shes pregnant-This is our first litter,and probably the last also,these are going to be amazing pups.We planned on vet bills,welping supplies,time and care for them,and have found really great homes.Never even occurred to us that our male would be an issue or problem.They are loving and playful with each other,always have been.I went to leerburg kennels forum to ask the question of when our male can be with the pups?And the reply was never-period.That he had done his job.Is this the norm for breeders of working gsd's.These pups are going into homes like ours,they are not going to live 24/7 in kennels. I'd like some advice and help with this issue.
