Has anybody noticed how certain breeds of dog seem to go in and out of fashion.

At one time there always seemed to be German Shepherd Dogs everywhere. Then it was Old English Sheepdogs (Digby, the Biggest Dog in the World). Then we had Dalmations (I wonder where that came from!).

Crufts, seems to be a big trigger for making a dog fashionable, but I'm sure the media circuit also has something to do with it.

I've noticed that too. It annoys me to no end that movies (unintentionally) tend to popularize certain breeds.

I agree...and when the breeds are out of style, they end up unwanted or homeless.
