When I had my litter of puppies this past winter, I gave them the shots myself. It was $6 per pup to do it myself verses $15 from my vet. You can buy them at some PetSmart stores & I think all farm stores. I got mine at the farm store.

You're welcome. Although, I have never found a store that sells the rabies shot. You'll probably still have to get this from the vet. That's probably best anyway because you get a tag from the vet that proves that she has the shot. If you buy the shot, you don't get the tag. I don't know about where you live, but where I live, if people don't see the tag hanging from their collar, you can get in trouble. My vet only charges $12 for the rabies shot though, so it's realy not that bad.

You can buy all except Rabies from Drs. Foster & Smith. Rabies has to be legally given by a vet.

I have to look into this. I had no idea you could administer shots on your own.

I was surprised at reading this as well.
We can't buy our shots over the counter in the UK.

I thought most of the drugs given were prescription, so you would have to be over 18 to give them anyway.

Strange how one country interprets stuff different to another.

We administer our dogs shots, including their rabies. The company we buy from provides the rabies tag with the shot for really reasonable..

Dog Vaccines, Cat Vaccines, Pet Medical Supplies, Dog Medical Supplies, Pet Vaccines

that's their vaccines. You can also get them actually in the syringe measured out already that's what we do, and it comes with their tags

I love jeffers because they carry a variety of things that we use on a regular basis.

That's kewl. I'm just curious, what do the tags say? Usually the vet's name & number & stuff like that is on the tag. So what do these tags say? Also, do you have the link for the one that's already measured out & in the syringe?

here's the direct link -

The rabies tags in our state just has a long number on it and it's metal so they look just like those. I didnt know it was differant state to state but I believe minnesota all shots have to be performed by a vet.

That's fine. Thanks anyway. LOL I know how to give shots. I gave all the shots to my puppies this past winter. I've just never seen rabies shots that came with tags before.

Ohh yes I LOVE Jeffers. I get all of my dog & rabbit meds from them and my ferret supplies. They are affordable and dependable! Just made an order today actually heehee... they have Nustock salve that I'm told works on EVERYTHING from mange mites to weird skin problems... it's like bagabalm for dogs and horses but stronger heehee But they carry it for $5 cheaper than anywhere else and I get my ferret stuff a few bucks cheaper than at the petstores, as well as my dogs multivits.

ScottyDoggy, I think we live in the same area. Send me a message sometime.

Usually the other shots come in a shot together (parvovirus, carona virus, etc). Also, I believe from what I've seen, that you'll need to order syringes. I don't think the shots come with them. Hope this helps.
