Default Pomeranian

Here's a photo of a Pomeranian that's part of our extended family. As you can see, she gets involved in family gatherings by just hanging out.

Anybody else have one?

The Pomeranian in the picture was adopted as a pup, by a family with a couple of kids about 11 or 12 at the time.

I also know of another brought into a family with the kids a few years younger.

In both cases the dogs settled in fine and everybody loved them.

He's very cute. My mom used to have one. They're a lot to keep up on as far as grooming & such. I personally like the shorter haired dogs because I'm lazy as far as grooming goes. LOL But if you have the time to groom them properly, or the money to take them to the groomer, they're great.

Very good point after all I have my hands full with three kids and one dog so maybe a shorter haired dog would be our best choice also.

My has one. She's quite small compared to others I've seen. She's quite the barker.

I used to know one that was crossed with another small breed, and she was absolutely marvellous.
She was the most sensible little dog I've ever come across.
Walked off the lead, went and sat in a chair when she was told. Brilliant.

Twitch, her name was.

I notice that the Pomeranians I've known tend to choose a favourite person and stay close.
I guess it's flattering if you're in a room full of people and the dog insists on sitting on your lap.

I'd never actually thought about that till you mentioned it, Ricardo.

The one I knew was very close to her owner as well. She didn't sit on his knee all the time, but she wouldn't do much for anybody else. Like she didn't have any interest in other people.

It's the first time I've thought about it.
