Default Walking your dog

Well lets just say that my dog walks me I am stronger than her so I try not to allow her to do this but she still does. Is there a way to get her out of this? She just pulls me where she wants to go and normally she wins.

Well, I have a no-pull harness for my one dog. It works really well for her. Also, NEVER allow your dog to pull you. It just makes them worse. I usually pull my dogs back. That usually works. I've heard a lot of people will stop walking altogether to make their dog pay attention to them before proceeding. Sometimes pulling back & saying a sharp "no" will do the trick. Every dog is different & will respond differently to things. So you have to see what works for your dog.

OK I will give this a try I hope that she has not done this for to long and its to late to get her to stop doing this it makes it very hard to walk her. Thanks for the info I will give this a try.

I just did the simple thing of stopping & Pulling her back so she would correct her self, and then we could set off again. She soon snapped out of pulling me but I must say if she see's a cat I got no chance I'll normally be on the floor lol!

Wink Walking

The stop and go method worked for my sister's dog, she owned an american bulldog, as soon as he started pulling she stopped dead in her tracks, he would turn around and have this look as if to say why did you stop, then when he let a little slack on the leash she walked again, as soon as he pulled she stopped, took her a long time to finish her walk but he got the clue after awhile maybe after a few days, and doesn't pull anymore. Sure helps to have treats in your pocket, cause when he pulled and she stopped he would automatically sit instead of trying to keep pulling. she would treat him constantly for good behaviours.....
