Default Dog Portraits or Photos

Has anybody ever had one of these done?

I will admit to having an oil painting done of my sisters dog as a surprise for her.
It wasn't over the top or anything like that, and actually came out as a beautiful, relaxed painting.

Some, I know though, can be very expensive!

I would love to see how my Brindle guy would look in an oil painting. I can't even imagine how they would do the colors. The ones I have seen who offer this ARE expensive, and basically require that you send them a dog picture
I guess at that point, they just replicate it in painting?

Would be interesting to meet a local artist who does it in person, but at the same time I agree with Staffi ^
My Spike can't stay in one place.

I think what they do is either take a photo of your dog, or ask you to bring one in that you particularly like.

I've never had one done myself but did used to know somebody that did them.

I have, somewhere got one she did of my cat. It's not a massive thing, about 18 inches by 12 I think, but it got creased before I had time to frame it!

Hi,

I can do this for you. what we do at newpetportraits.co.uk is prepare elegant charcoal (black & white) portraits from your photo which you email to us. Prices are reasonable from US$85. You only send 25% as a deposit then we make the portrait and email it to you. If you're happy with how it looks you send the balance of payment and we send the portrait to you. Look at my site to see real examples of both photos and the corresponding portraits. at www newpetportraits.co.uk
