Default Dog problem

I have 2 dogs, lab-chow mix, both females who share the same mother, but were from seperate litters. The oldest one, Camille, has gotten along o.k. with the younger, Cassandra, fine except for a growl once in awhile.

But now that they are both over the age of 1yr, Camille has begun to jump on Cassie, sometimes for no reason that I see. She hasnt done any injuries yet, and I dont know if its just an Alpha dog thing going on, but when its happening, its frightening!

I have never owned an aggressive dog before, and someone told me that it's the Chow strain in her that's making her this way, she's wonderful with little kids, and LOVES cats, but she will fly on Cassie. I am at a loss to figure out what the problem is.

Could the fact that Camille is spayed and Cassie isn't have anything to do with it? HELP!!!l

Default

I really don't know. I do know that my dad's neighbor's pure Chow Chows fight a lot. Even males & females fight with each other. None of their dogs are related. It could just be the alpha-dog thing. I try very hard not to be descriminate against dog breeds because I have a dog breed that is discriminated against. I just know what I see. Hopefully someone else will be able to help you more than I can.

Default have same problem

i also have a younger dog that does that to the older one one is 1.5 the other is 7, the 7 year old doesn't even have a chance, she could be outside doing her business and jack (the younger one) will knock her right over, they have fallen off the bed, couch you name it he takes her toys and bones right out of her mouth, this has been going on for about 6 months and we have not had any injuries either, except for a bit of missing fur, so we just let them go, we figure that if the older one gets tired of it she will eventually let jack know.
