how often should we bring our dogs to the vet?

i havent brought him for a checkup in almost 2 years...

I also would like to know how often we should bring our pets for check-up. I usually bring her in when she's not feeling well or if I noticed something different about her. I just make sure that she's okay so that I don't have to spend for an expensive check-up.

We take our dog to the vet once a year for her shots and checkup but this year we was several months late but we took her the otherday.

At a minimum, she goes to the vet for shots each year. Our vet sends reminder postcards (much like the [human] dentist).

We take our dogs for shots; otherwise I haven't had any problems that required trips there (thank goodness).

My dog's vet sends a postcard when ever he needs to come in. It sent about every six months.

My dogs go to the vet annually for wellness exams and heartworm tests. Sebastian gets bloodwork done too. My vet only gives vaccinations every 3yrs.

Vaccination frequency is different according to where you live. In California, it was once every three years, but here in the Midwest, it's every year because of the wildlife around and the chance of rabies. My dogs go about as often as I do -- about once a year unless there is illness or accidents.

From what I've seen in the other posts, Rocky's vet is making a killing off of me. lol

I take my dog once a year to get her shots and that is all I hope that is all that I ever have to take her.

I do our dogs shots myself and have a friend who is a vettech if anything odd comes up... our pups haven't been to a vet since they were born I think heh But if there were an emergency I would take them in quickly
