I think I agree with the woman that the Humane Society is going too far in trying to "protect" the pups. Dogs have lived and worked on farms for thousands of years, and sleeping in a dairy barn isn't going to be harmful. Isn't it better to have a pup go to a loving home with a warm barn, than to someone who will keep it alone in the house all day while they're at work?

I think that this would have been every puppys dream a huge farm to run and play omg how the puppy may be put to sleep if no one want it.

I think that they should have a right to decide who takes the puppy/dog home...even though that puppy would have had an awesome home.

I think it's pretty stupid that they wouldn't let her adopt the puppy. It probably would have been one of the happiest puppies in the world.

I'm puzzled by the story...was it that particular puppy they said would not be okay sleeping in the dairy barn or any puppy?

I know the humane society where I go... they WILL NOT adopt to anyone if they say that the animal is going to be an outside dog (or cat for that matter) and you have to sign papers stating it. They say if they are outside, they must be in a "kennel-like" area, but cannot be outside all of the time. Maybe that was this humane society's deal. They act like being outside is a form of cruelty or something. I know, I had to answer so many questions and scnerio's...and to through all kinds of hoops!

i drove tractor trailer over the road i went to the humane soc looking for a dog to take with me on the road .they said no that would not be a life for a dog .geeeeeeeeeee thanks ,i went to a breeder and got one ,she loves the truck .im with her 24/7 we eat together sleep together truck together were a team .i think its a joke and personaly i think they would rather kill them then give them a good home second i do not believe in there fixing laws .i will never go back to the inhumane soc for a dog thats for shure .

That is really to bad. It probably would have had a wonderful home. If the dog was a tiny breed dog I could understand not wanting it to live outdoors but dogs and farms have always gone together. I just don't understand their reasoning. I would be really angry if I found out that the pup was later put down because they couldn't find it another home. I am a breeder and I have sold several pups that were going to travel over the road with a trucker. I thought it was really wonderful that they were going to be with someone they loved all the time like that. Wonderful company for each other.

This is a really weird decision. Almost every dog would love to be able to run free and have a lot of room to roam and explore. That farm would have been a great place for him to grow up. As long as the dog goes to a good home, it shouldn't matter. There are too many dogs being put to slept, why are they trying to discourage adoption?
