Default My Neurotic Dog

Since my wife was in the hospital a couple of months ago for surgery, our six year old beagle has been sticking to her like Velcro.

The dog will literally stand beside or behind her and follow at her heels when she walks. A sudden stop means a pup in the butt!

When she leaves for even a minute, he starts howling and barking.

Is this a job for doggie downers, or is there another way we could handle this?
