Default Dog follows me everywhere

My lab follows me around the house or outside. If I get up from bed to go to the bathroom, she wakes up, and plops up against the door. If I am not sleeping and go to the bathroom, she does the same. If I wake up when she is dead asleep and move..her head goes up. If I am working, she sleeps by my feet. If I go outside, she follows. If I sit on the couch...shes beside me.

She is a great dog..and so protective!

It could be the other way around, maybe she feels safer whenever you're beside her and she's having separation anxiety when she's not seeing you around her but whatever the case maybe, it really feels great when our pet dog prefers our company than anything or anyone else.

I never thought about it the other way around. She's my pal.

My dog is like that too. He's so attentive and follows me throughout the house.

Sometimes I'll start to walk one direction and then remember something I needed and turn and go back the other way. Poor little guy, he keeps following me!

Wow! You are lucky. I would love to have a dog who follows me around. My dog doesn't do that. He is just like a baby and not a bestfriend. I would love to have a dog who acts like a bestfriend! :-) That is why I am thinking of buying a Lab or Rottweiler. My current doggie will always be my baby dog though.

Yes, I was thinking the separation anxiety thing, too.

You have a Mary's little lamb there!

Lol, its funny you say that. My Brutus is about 110 pounds and thinks hes a lap dog.

He starts running toward the couch I'm like BRUTUS!!!!... and *BAM* lol he tackles me. Even if theres tons of room on the other side of the couch.. his butt or his head have to be on my lap at all times. I love my dogs.

They were all sweet dogs. Dog is very good in sense of smelling. You live with your dog of course they were already familiar with your smell. Wherever you go, he always noticed you.
