Default What is the best breed of dog you've ever had?

I've only owned 3 dog breeds. My favorite so far has been Emma [Golden Retriever]. Retrievers fit my lifestyle perfectly and are all around great dogs.

What's the best breed you've owned...?

That is hard for me to say. I have had two dogs in my life, and those are the two I have now. I don't know which I like more, though, between my dachshund and my rat terrier mix.

Beagles and Great Danes were the best dogs I've ever owned.

I'm partial to mixed breeds, but not hound mixes. One of my favourite dogs ran away when we moved from a small town to a bigger city. She was part Collie, part Husky and part wolf. She was great.

I think that the mixed breads makes the best dogs or this is the way it seems with all my dogs.

best? I hate to say any one dog breed is best. We love our Jack russell terrier, but while there are lots of positives to the breed, they're not for everyone, and some days, that includes us. whew, they are spazzy dogs.

I have only owned a small amount of dogs in my time, but the breed I have now, out does them all in brains. I have come to believe that Malamutes are one of the smartest breeds, as training him was a snap. He is well behaved, and doesn't give me much trouble at all......

Well, I don't know if this is the breed(s) or the dog, but the all-around best behaved dog that I have owned has been a Shepherd/Rottweiler/Chow mix.
