What is the best breed of dog you've ever had?
I've only owned 3 dog breeds. My favorite so far has been Emma [Golden Retriever]. Retrievers fit my lifestyle perfectly and are all around great dogs.
What's the best breed you've owned...?

That is hard for me to say. I have had two dogs in my life, and those are the two I have now. I don't know which I like more, though, between my dachshund and my rat terrier mix.

I'm partial to mixed breeds, but not hound mixes. One of my favourite dogs ran away when we moved from a small town to a bigger city. She was part Collie, part Husky and part wolf. She was great.

best? I hate to say any one dog breed is best. We love our Jack russell terrier, but while there are lots of positives to the breed, they're not for everyone, and some days, that includes us. whew, they are spazzy dogs.

I have only owned a small amount of dogs in my time, but the breed I have now, out does them all in brains. I have come to believe that Malamutes are one of the smartest breeds, as training him was a snap. He is well behaved, and doesn't give me much trouble at all......

Well, I don't know if this is the breed(s) or the dog, but the all-around best behaved dog that I have owned has been a Shepherd/Rottweiler/Chow mix.

That's a hard question to answer as I don't think our dogs have been good because of their breed. Based on the dogs we have now I would have to say that in the future if I bought a dog based on breed it would have to be a cross of Collie, Springer Spaniel and Jack Russell a they are fantatsic people dogs.

What is the best breed of dog you've ever had?
I truly have to say German Shepherd In the past I have had 2purebreds, and 2 mixes of gsd. I remember when i was 5yr we had a Purebred german shepherd named Gunny. My dad went to the store and forgot to close the front door(this was a really really good neighborhood, we knew everybody very well), I was watchin tv and Gunny was lying there the whole time even though he could just get up and go since the door was wide open he stayed. He was the best dog anybody could have. He died at the age of 15 of old age.

I think I'd vote for the "Heinz 57" mixed varieties. We've had some of these that were very unique.

My fav dog of all time was an english bull terrier(RIP) only cause she was sooooo intelligent well my mixed boy I have now is great in other ways he isn't easy to train but is trying his hardest at agility which actually makes it more rewarding when we do well compared to such an easy dog as maddie was but I am weird I like all sorts from great danes down to Chihuahuas(which I am now dying to get nagging the boyfriend for one)

Hmmm...we have had a few purebreeds and many mixes growing up.We had 2 german shepherds and 3 labs. Two of the labs we had as a family, had behavioral problems and mom gave them away yrs ago.Out of the dogs we had as a family, the mixes seemed to be better. We had a couple of shepherd mixes, beagle mix and a terrier mix...the terrier mix is now 9yrs old today and still living with my mom.
Then when I first moved out,I got a black lab.She was really sweet and playful, kind of dumb tho :???: .However she jumped on our daughter when she was newborn and my bf got mad and made me give Jasmine (dog) away.I miss her and now wished we just took her to obediance. If she went to obediance classes,I am sure she would of made a wonderful family dog.She loved everyone anyway!
I now take in foster beagles all the time and they seem to be wonderful dogs.I also had co-ownership of a few greyhounds and have had them up here at the house for awhile (they have since passed) and so to me,I say beagles and greyhounds are my dogs. They are so sweet and kind and loving. When I decide to adopt a dog for good again,I am going for a beagle and/or a greyhound.

My favorite breed is the Yorkshire Terrier. My second favorite breed is the Dachshund. They are both loving, fun and smart.

The best breed I've ever had is my Pit Bulls. I've had mixed breeds before & a couple of them got mean. I don't think I'll ever have another kind of dog other than a Pit Bull.
