Anyone ever had the problem of a neighbor's barking dog that prevents you from sleeping at night? I used to have this problem, luckily they are gone now. It seemed like I could never fix this problem, as I would talk to them, and they would say that they would address the problem, and do nothing.

We have a few that live an acre or two away, that do like to bark a lot at night. Of course they have a quite a few critters to bark at in the woods, so I can't really blame them. They don't keep me up at night, but when my son was younger, he would be afraid to go to sleep with them barking.......

My dog is the neighborhood barker unfortunately. I try to give him a good talking to, but when he gets on a tangent there's no stopping him.

there's not much else you can do other than mention to the neighbors to keep their pooch in at night... I hate it, myself.

totally reminds me of that episode in seinfeld where elaine cant sleep and her, kramer and newman kidnap the dog and bring it to some obscure place miles away..but the dog finds its way back home.

I guess you'd just have to tune it out, or get a noise machine. I heard a great tip, that you could set a radio to an area where you just get snow, and then leave that on for a little white noise. The truth is, that complaining won't do much. The neighbors probably wish that he'd be quite too. I never notice our barking dogs, because I have a noisy parakeet in my bedroom. You learn to tune out all kinds of noises if you have a bird.

Just wondering are any of you my neighbors? LoL sounds like everyone has this kind of problem I know that we do. My one neighbor just threatens to shoot that dog and I do think that he will one of these days.

Only if you hear "Howling" at night, as that would be my dog..... That's one of the things I like about Malamutes, or at least my dog. Instead of barking, he either Howls or Talks to the other dogs. The only time I have heard him bark, is when there is a snake in the yard, and he is telling it to go away.......

we had this problem, so we simply purchased one of those anti-barking devices and put it in our backyard. it sent out a high-pitched sound only the dogs could hear. it worked, the dogs stopped barking, and we were able to accomplish this without even mentioning the problem to the neighbors.. they never even knew we had done it!
i don't remember which exact model this was, but you can do some google searches for things such as barker breaker or something
