Yes this is a really good idea even tho I don't have them on my dog where is a good place to get them at?

I know that you can get custom id tags engraved at the little machine in the pet stores. At least the ones by me have them. You could also order them or ask your vet for a good place to get them.

We learned the hard way..thankfully our dog came back on his own after a couple of days--but we definitely went out and bought an ID tag for both of them (after spending hours talking to neighbors on all sides of us) to go along with their license tags.

I thought that's what the state license was for? They have all your info if the people take the time to call the number that's on the tag. The dogs I have not have never run away, but I've had dogs run away in the past & that's how I got them back.
