Default Would you hire a dog walker or a dog sitter?

I think one of the reasons that I have had not had a dog for so long, is that my lifestyle is rather hectic. It would be unfair to keep a dog alone for long periods of the day.

I know that dogwalkers and sitters exist in my local area and wondered if anyone had ever used one. If so, did it work well?

If you able to give a dog enough time when you are not working, then it may be an idea to hire dog walkers / dog sitters.

If you are not able to spend quality time with a dog, then you may have to consider whether a dog would actually fit in with your lifestyle. Dogs are very much like children, as they need love, routines and a comfortable environment.

I might think about hiring a dog walker, but one of my dogs doesn't like to go outside. I have hired dog sitters to watch our dogs while we were gone though.

If you can provide the enviroment for a dog and otherwise take care of it,then when you go out I think you should hire a sitter or dog walker...one that you are comfortable with though.

I used to walk neighbourhood dogs for busy people and enjoyed doing it.Now I just walk the office/kennel dogs.

If I had my own dog and was really busy,I would probably hire someone to walk my dog...but only if I would be out for a long time.It all depends tho,I have had foster dogs and I would be out all day running errands or something and never ever hired anyone. And a couple of times when I had fosters,if I would be out for the night,my sisters walked the dogs for me.So it all depends in my situation.

It's a nice idea to hire a dog sitter if you are out of town for how many days. In my situation, I just let my brother take care of it if I'm at work. Sometimes I just leave the dog at home. I have nothing to worry because my dog knows his eating schedule. The important thing is I prepare his food before leaving the house.

I've hired a Dog sitter before through Dog Walkers City (dogwalkerscity.com). Was a bit worried at first but had no choice in the end. Worked out great though, using the sitter on a regular basis now!
