My partner and I are absolute dog lovers and have finally bought a house so we are able to get our first dog together.

We would just like to know if there are any websites that anyone recommends that we could look at to help make our decisions easier and also to get the dog best suited to us.

Have you guys thought about the qualities you want in a dog?Do you want a big dog or a small dog? Or one in between? Do you want one that will guard you or one that is very active and into all kinds of activities!?

Whatever you decide, I hope you will think about rescuing one...its the best feeling in the world saving an unwanted dog and then becoming best friends with him/her and knowing what a difference you made in his life. There are so many great dogs adondoned/abused by idiot people and all alone

Yes!If you cand find breed rescues around you,check them out!Or just visit your local shelters...you may find your special someone there!

There are lots of society who raise funds for taking care of homeless dogs. I guess it's a nice idea to visit one of their animal care center. You will surely see lots of dogs need your help. You can pick one for your new pet at home.

You could go to dogbreedinfo.com They have almost every breed on there. They have the origin of the dog, the breed standard, all that good stuff on there. It will help a lot with the info on dog breeds. Hope this helps.

How is your dog search going? Found a new best friend yet? There are still many many dogs needing good homes from Hurricane Katrina. Maybe you could check those out?
