I've seen some dogs in pet stores. I'd think that they'd get real excited around the rawhide chews and anything they could smell that was appealing.

Does your dog help you shop?

Ive never seen them actually in the pet store..but Ive heard they are welcome to come with!

I can only imagine trying to contain my Chester while he freaks out running and trying to smell (and grab) all the goodies in there

I don't bring my dog to a pet store because I don't want to spend too much money for my dog wants and need. I prefer to shop on my own. The motto of my dog is "what doggy wants, doggy gets". I don't have a choice but to leave him at home.

I sometimes take my dogs with me. I do not actually take them in the store just because it would be too much to control both dogs.

Ive never taken my dog to the pet store with me but while I am there I see several owners with there dogs.

We have a Shiba Inu and she loves going to the pet stores. She is extremely well behaved and doesn't bother anything in the store. If we take a toy or bone off the shelf and let her inspect it to see if she likes it, she will do so; otherwise she doesn't bother anything that's "Not Shebas". (We named her Sheba cause they called her by her breed name for the 14 weeks before we got her. We just changed the spelling and added Queen of to her name. Since she loves being adored, the name works.)

She loves the people in the pet stores and is great will kids. She's a big hit at the Pet Stores. Everyone says she looks like a little fox and I guess she does, kind of.

I live near a street of stores that's very dog-friendly. Some of the stores have bowls of water outside the doors in the summer for dogs.

A couple stores even have bowls of dog biscuits. There are lots of dogs being walked in the area.

No, I don't take my dog to the store ... The reason - she may get scared of something or somebody and pull me, or worse - free herself of the leash and run away. I don't want this adventure. LOLOL
