Default Pet Health Insurance

In our town, I observed in my country that only few applied health insurance for their pet. Do your pet needs to apply for health insurance? What will be its benefit?

It is a good idea, but if you have a lot of pets, it can get expensive. I had it when I only had 2 cats and a dog, but now we have 3 dogs and 2 cats so it was about $60/mo for all 5. Not bad, but if something really bad did happen to one of them and it cost $1-2000, that would be about 2-3 years of premiums. I had insurance for 3 years on the 3 of them and never had a problem and since I canceled it, its been another year so I think its better this way and if something does happen, I won't blink and spending whatever it takes as I have been saving the $60.mo in premiums I would have been paying all along.
It did feel good knowing we had insurance in case soethimng happened, though.

We recently looked into it, but decided due to the age of our pets, we'd just continue without it. I think it's quite pricey to start insuring older animals.

My husband and I looked into this also, but we decided that with all of the animals we have it just isn't worth the price.

If something happens to them we will just pay the old fashioned way. Our vets offer payment plans, so if they ever need an expensive procedure-- we will still probably be spending less a month than what we would for insurance.

Yeah, thats right, I forgot to mention that the older they are the higher the cost, so if you have a couple of old dogs it could get real expensive.

I think it's worth it for a new dog or one prone to accidents. My BIL has it, his dog gets into all kinds of trouble (eats socks etc) so it has been worth it for them.

I would love to get insurance on my dogs. It's just too expensive right now. I'm hoping that in the not too distant future I can get it. The insurance I looked into covered quite a bit of stuff.

I have pet insurance on both of my dogs. For my 5 year old, he has only needed it a couple of times for minor things. But my almost 12 year old dog has had many, many medical problems since he was about 5 years old and the insurance has saved our budget. I pay $54.75 every month, but it has been so worth it for him. I'm really glad that I have it.

It sounds good. Almost all dog owners in this forum really have a budget for their dog. It only proved how much you love your dog.
