Does Your Dog Hate The Mailman?
I live in a condo, so dogs in my building don't get a chance to see the mailman, usually.
Is this just a stereotype for the most part, or does your dog get upset with your mailman?

my dog (chihuahua mix) hates everybody!!
once he hears someone going up the front steps he goes crazy and barks his head off.
i wish there was a way to stop it...and make him more welcoming, but it does make a great alarm system

My 3 LOVE the mailman and the UPS guy. They both give them treats whenever they come by. They go nuts when they see the mail truck or UPS truck pull up or even when ANY mail truck or UPS dirives down our street.

I live in a mobile home park, so my dogs don't really get to see the mail man. But they don't bark at the vehicle she drives. They don't really mind the UPS guy either. They don't like his vehicle though. LOL I guess it's too loud.

My dogs don't hate anyone. They're just big and they bark a lot... which really scares anyone new to my home.

My dogs are protective, in that they will alert me that someone is near the house. Once they don't sense anything is wrong they will walk over and get all kinds of attention from whoever is here.
Now, there are delivery people who are afraid to get out of their van when they are here and the dogs are out because Brutus is so big, so they are intimidating, but quickly realize after I go outside that the dogs mean no harm and they will pet them.

My dog is very friendly. If he heard the motorcycle of the mailman, he used to run outside and play with the mailman. Even the mailman told me that of all dogs in the neighborhood, my dog is the most friendly. I'm proud of it because I trained my dog well.

My dog always barked at the mailman, so it appeared he hated him. He was just being protective though. He was good that way. I appreciated that the most when the meter reader came, because he'd have to come into the house and go down the basement... I'd always hold Snoopy in front of me and he protected me just fine

Mine chase
Of our 9 only three or four dislike the maillady.
We live in the rural area so she has to deliver to our street box. One manages to get out of every fence we put upand chase her.
But they all dislike any stranger. So the meter readers are tyankful we put up teh fence, the UPS guy, fedex, DHL, water readers dont realize ther is a fence, because its grown p with rose bushes and vines, but they are terrified of the barks.
we gave them permission to use a stun gun or any defense they have to protect themselves. AS the dogs are not supposed to be out of the fence.
