hey, I think the newest addition to our home may have brought a bit of "kennel cough" home from the shelter with him; we adopted him 8 days ago and he is doing great but in the past couple of days he and our 18 month old Jack Rat (female) have begun coughing, wheezing, lots of eye-matting. The eye matting was actually present on the newest dog, Tiger, who is a 3 month old german shephard/lab mix as far as we can tell, by the way....anyway, it was there when we got him, so should we assume he just brought a bit of a cold home and what should we do?? home remedies tried and true, anybody???? please????

I responded in the other thread, but I didn't talk about the eyes. Warm whole milk on the eyes, will some how clean them. I don't know why it works just that it does. Twice a day, and you will see improvement. I still say, take them to the vet soon!

I also responded to the other post but I'll repeat myself. It could very well be Kennel cough and both dogs should be seen by a vet as soon as possible. You don't want to fool around and wait with Kennel cough. Good luck.
