hello,
I thought this would be a good topic for any new dog owner... I have posted this in other dog forums and thought it would be a good topic. I have been to a few diff sites and have saw a few diff good ideas... so i thought i would list afew...

a plastic bottle, empty or with beans or rice in it... saddie loves the one we mad for her

or

make ur own tug of war toys out of old socks, towels dish clothes, or even jeans...or take some breaded rope and u can tie a knot or 2 in it and soak it in beef/chicken flavor or put some peanut butter on it.

and of course...

old stuffed animals that are sturdy enough that they wont rip easy.. saddie loves her purple puppy... i will admit its not the sturdiest, but i watch her with it and have had to sew it a few times as she has ripped it open..

also for teething...

you can soak old towels in water and the beef/chicken flavor and freeze them.. i havent tried this as of yet...

or

u can make decent size ice cubes...

or if u wish u can go to your local dollar store they have a pretty good selection of ropes, teenis balls and rubber chew toys for a good price.. i spoil saddie everytime i go to the dollar store she gets a new toys or treat of some sort... I would love to hear more tips or suggestions on this topic.. i thought it might help a few ppl...
