i had my dog out for a walk yesterday so when i got in i gave him a wet cloth wash... not to much..... but today he looks like he has dandruff.....

A lot of dogs have dander it's just a common issue. It can be caused by weather change, something lacking from their diet, stress and it also depends on the breed. There are some breeds that are notorious for having bad skin. If it's to bad you might consider changing his food to something that has added oils in it like Flax seed oil and the Omega Fatty acids. Better off getting a premium food.
Just like humans dogs shed skin as well. Their skin is always rejuvenating itself. So in order for that to happen the top layer of skin has to come off.
