Hello

I have a brand new 8 week old Boxer pup.
I bought a little collar and leash for him. I was hoping to be able to take him for walks to get him used to "going" outside. When I put the leash and collar on him he just whines and wont walk with me.
Do you think its simply because he is so young? Should I just keep trying a few times a day?

This seems to be a very repeated questions on the forums. I would read through some of the older posts they may be very helpful. But to summarize what i pretty much tell everyone else is to try a loose leash training method, treats also help. Try to setup a schedule for walks, repetition and consistency is a must so that your dog begins to expect the walks. Try walking closer to home at first and slowly introduce farther walks as your puppy begins to become more comfortable with its surrounding.
