I'm new to the forum.
I have an English Shepherd named Kiki. She is a perfect jogging partner. I live in the county, just outside my town and Kiki has jogged as many as 10 miles with me. Most of my runs are approx. 3 miles.
Have to add, Kiki is extremely well trained and obedient. Outside of town Kiki jogs off leash with me and explores the ditches and fields, but never goes in the road. "In town" Kiki jogs on a six foot leash tied to my waste to assure traffic can't get to her.
She is the best running partner I could have and she is my motivation to get out and run. Without Kiki I would almost never run. She loves it.
I agree with the person who mentioned to be sure you want a dog, not just a jogging partner.
