Default Yorkie!

Get a yorkie!!! I have a welsh springer spaniel, and he is the sweetest, cuddliest dog, but if you want a small dog, go with a yorkie! My best friend has two: one is a little yappy, but the other is an absolute doll--he's tiny, and loves attention and affection, and hardly ever barks!

Maybe if you'd taken the necessary time to spend with your baby jack and train him properly, this wouldn't have happened. People need to think BEFORE they bring a puppy into their lives. It is a huge responsibility and perhaps, at 13 years of age, it was too much for you. Dogs are not commodities to be shoved around as befits human beings. They also have feelings. I cannot have a lot of sympathy for someone who takes a puppy into their home and then decides to discard the poor little thing. I sincerely hope you act in a wiser manner next time.

I know you say you want a small puppy for your first dog and one that isn't yappy, but I agree with others...A: a lot of small dogs are yappy & B: puppies are a lot of work. I got my first puppy when I was 16, a male Dachshound and he was a lot of work for me and he was a family dogs...and I had 3 younger siblings. I would like to suggest a female retired raceing Greyhound. She won't be a puppy when you get her, but they are very affectionate, pre-trained and some don't even cut it as raceing dogs so they get adopted out at a young age...and you would be helping rescue a dog that needs a home and a family to love him/her. Through our rescue we have had ones as young as 1 year. Most of them listen well and walk very nice on a leash. You can get ones that are smaller also such as a female (like I mentioned earlier). Just a thought. You can check out many rescues online and researche them...on that note research any dog breed you are looking at. Make sure they are going to have the temperment you are looking for in an adult dog. Puppies change as they grow and mature and I would hate to hear that you get a breed you thought you would enjoy then found out he/she was to much for you and you had to find him/her a new home. Good luck in your search and take your time and do your homework!
Oh and check our Italian Greyhounds (IG) also (if your interested in the Greyhounds) cause the IG's are just like "Standard" Greyhounds just a lot smaller. They just don't race like the larger ones.

I'm sorry to say but i am quite offended by this post you made...
I have acted in a wiser manner now adopting a 5y.o golden retriever, NOt a puppy. I admitted my mistake and did what's best for Oscar. And I DID say i rushed the desicion. It was stupid and I admitted it. People make mistake.
I did "take the necessary time to spend with my baby jack and train him properly" I tried, i did really. If I was a cold hearted person i would keep him and "shove him around for my benifit" but i didnt because I loved him and in my opinion did what was best for him. I am really hurt by your comment.
