Unpretty Dogs
What dogs do you think are less pretty?
Everyone has there own taste and I am interested in knowing what people like the look of what others dont?
I must say the breed that I dislike the look of the most is the Chihuahua, Im not saying that they are not lovely dogs to own. But just not my taste.
Whats yours?

Pugs are deffinately one of the ugliest dogs I have ever seen. They are so ugly it makes them look kinda cute. I think after Pugs are French bulldogs. They look almost the same. I love dogs. By me saying they are ugly does not mean I don't like them.

Sorry I have to say that I really dislike the look of poodles! They just look like toys and look horrible I would say the Black ones look better than White ones.
Couldnt say if they were good dogs as I havent owned one so I wont say they are bad dogs

OK, I have to put my vote in here, for the Chihuahua. I'm sorry, but that is one ugly looking dog, and we used to have one when I was a kid.....

Aw, beauty is in the eye of the beholder, isn't it?
I used to work with Bull Terriers, what people tend to call "English" Bull Terriers.
They are the ones with the Roman noses.
A lot of people used to tell me how strange looking they thought they were, but when you are with them all the time it gets that all other dogs look strange and they look normal!
I still have a very strong, soft spot for them. A contradiction in terms, I know.

I have to say that Poodles are ugly ugly ugly... My mom has three and they are such a pain in the butt. Her two oldest are 8 yrs old and still not potty trained, and the youngest is5 yrs still not potty trained... She has to put puppy pads down still... They yap and whine about everything and everything scares them... lol, they constantly jump aall over you, I am sure my moms dogs are just mental and I am sure there are lovely poodles out there, but this was my experince with them LOL.

I think you're all bloody horrible. I don't think there is any such thing as an ugly dog. I wonder if they think that some dogs have ugly owners?

LOL, gimmie a break they are just dogs, they are'nt going to get a complex by saying there ugly.. LOL I think some people forget thats dogs, cats, whatever are PETS not PEOPLE, they should be treated like pets.... I don't belive in EVERY keeping a dog or cat outside, but I also also think its silly to buy them clothes, or get mad when they are'nt aloud in a store or resturant. Or I have actually talked to people who said if my dogs can't go to my friends or familys home with me then I won't ever go LMAO!!! I have a dog and I would never expect someone to open there home to my dog or else! Like I said I have a dog but I don't take them anywhere unless I ask first and if someone says no then its no... I also love taking my dog for car rides, but not if I have a destination that does'nt allow pets. Sometimes I think we forget that people are more important unless, people are hurting or neglecting an animal in any way and then I think they are the animals and should be hog tied and stoned to death!!! LOL!!
But no really this is a fun question lets not get all devensive. Its not like we are singling anyone out and saying so and so has an ugly dog.. Keep it light!

I don't know if I would use the term of ugly. However, I would say that there are some looks I prefer over others. I'm not fond of poodles of any kind. I don't really go for a poofy look. That's not to say if I had to foster a poodle that I wouldn't just love it to pieces though. I've never really had a dog that I truly disliked!

No problem! I DO believe in keeping dogs and cats outside, but I am in the North of Scotland, where we often seem a bit more 'down to earth'. I have three dogs, who all live in the house. my dogs are more important to ME than MOST other people, but I don't for a minute feel other people should also think that about my dogs. I have chosen not to have children, as I can' t be doing with them, so, on the flip side, I think MOST children are ugly, but I dare say if I were a parent I wouldn't want someone singling out my child as ugly - no more than I like the thought or someone thinking any of my dogs are ugly! lol
Personally I have never met an ugly dog, and judge each dog on it's individual merits, as I do people. I don't generalise on breed OR creed.
But carry on with your lighthearted banter, and my apologies that I find it alien. Horses for courses!

I'm in the North of Scotland as well.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. And usually it comes down to what people and animals do, rather than how they look.
We may start off thinking something is ugly, but when we get to know it, the superficiallity of looks wears off and we change our opinion.
It's the same thing with people really, isn't it?

I watched the movie Superstar again last night. There is a very interesting looking dog in that movie that plays Mary’s pet “Francis.”
I won’t use the “U” word; I’m just saying it’s an interesting looking specimen.

I don't really think there are truly ugly dogs. But, if I had to choose I'd have to go with the pug, bulldogs, and some pekingnese.

I have to say that I don't like the looks (or personality for that matter) of poodles. I think Shar Pei's are kinda ugly too...But the dog that I can not stand the looks of are Neopolitan Mastiffs!! Have you ever seen one of those?! They're so disgusting looking when they're adults! LOL I've never seen a dog that is THAT ugly. I would take a poodle over that any day! But I'll stick with my Pit Bulls. LOL
