thats sad,i have six dogs myself and some just came to my house without collars or any sigh of a owner.i just adopted them and for nothing in the word i give them back, they shouldnt be careless .later they might run away from them and end up with someone else.those dogs came to me for a reason.hopefully the dog comes back if he does dont give it back, unless they have papers for it .but still dont

I hope you made sure that it actually was the owner. There are unfortunately some pretty unscrupulous people out there.Get yourself another dog. If it doesn't have to be a Pomeranian, I suggest saving the life of some lovable mutt from your local animal society. You'll know which one to take as soon as you see them! It will be love at first sight!

Congratulations for being so caring and honest! Obviously you did a great job of looking after this dog. You deserve to get yourself a dog...check out local shelters or a pomeranian rescue near you. Just think. If you had lost your dog, wouldn't you want someone like yourself to care for it until it found its home again? --Good luck.

Here is a flip side so to speak. Last year I lost my dog. I did everything in my power to recover her. Lost dog signs, ad in paper, flyers mailed to vets and groomers. I stopped and looked at all road kills. All to no avail. In my desparation, I went ahead and got a new dog. I was devestated over losing Mady. One month after I got Bailee, i got the call I never expected. 3 long months after losing Mady, I got a lead as to her where abouts. It seems that my dog was picked up as a "stray", and given to her daughter. I got the animal shelter and the police involved in getting her returned to me, her rightful owner. But, funny thing is, these people called her Mady. They saw my signs, but had no intention of returning her. And, I am sorry, but a stray is not cleaned, groomed and in good health. Just because she didn't have a collar on her, doesn't mean she is a castoff. It just so happened that I had given her a bath, and didn't put her collar back on. Because, I am bitter that the people didn't contact me, and hopefully the owner of your found dog doesn't harbor the resentment I feel towards the thieves that stole my dog. So, you did the right thing taking care of him, but you should have contacted your local aspca, animal shelters, the police, or taken the time to run an ad yourself. In my case I was able to prove ownership, because I did try to find her. Plus I had her AKC papers, pictures, the ad I placed, and copies of the flyers I made. So, shame on the owner for not putting an effort into locating his baby.I know it is hard losing something you've grown fond of, and you are definitely a pet-worthy person, so do yourself a favor, pat yourself on the back for doing a good deed, and go ahead and find a new fur-baby to love. Patti
